18 Faces of Madame Fù

Maria was selected by the owners of the award winning restaurant Madame Fù, in Hong Kong. They needed a bright, bold, graphic and vibrant update to their dark stairway leading to the restaurant entrance. Focusing on the fantastical story of Mme. Fù herself, Maria created 18 imaginary portraits of the elusive Madame, as she traveled the world and would have been portrayed by the most famous modern artists of the 20th Century.

Worldly and enigmatic, Madame Fù's identity is shrouded in mystery. This imaginative portrait series envisions her travels through Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Drawing inspiration from Madame Fù's alluring qualities of beauty, independence, and wit, they emulate the artistic styles of renowned artists worldwide, spanning from the 1920s to the present day.
